Saslong Classic

In the week leading up to Christmas, Val Gardena transforms into a major hub of the international ski racing scene. The iconic downhill race on the Saslong slope has been a highlight of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup since 1972, with the Super-G added in 2002. These prestigious events draw the biggest stars of the winter sports world to the Dolomites.

Val Gardena Ski Resort

The lifts in Val Gardena and on the Sellaronda open on 4 December 2025. The season is scheduled to run until early April.

The 25-kilometre-long Val Gardena is a side valley of the Valle Isarco. It is situated in the north-western part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Dolomites. Starting from Ponte Gardena, it extends to the Sella Massif, as well as the Passo Sella and Passo Gardena.

The village of Selva is located at the foot of the Sella Massif. The Selva ski area is part of the Sellaronda ski circuit.
